TSB CLINIC
The
Tennessee School for the Blind is staffed with 6 nurses who are focused
upon preventing illness and injury, promoting health, and assisting with
rehabilitation. The nurses are responsible for assisting physicians,
dispensing medications, providing treatments, and attending to sick or
injured students. The clinic also offers yearly flu vaccination at no cost
to TSB students. TSB employs three medical physicians. An ophthalmologist
exams each student every year for vision certification, athletic
participation, and for treatment of any minor eye problem that develops
while at school. A dentist offers dental exams and subsequent treatment
for any minor problems. A medical doctor is available to treat minor
illness and injuries, offer limited physicals for athletic participation
and offer medical advice to nursing staff.
